Ministry: Russia’s federal budget deficit at 0.9% of GDP Jan–Feb
MOSCOW, Mar 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s budget deficit amounted to 112.7 billion rubles in January–February, or 0.9% of country’s gross domestic product (GDP), the Finance Ministry said in a statement Wednesday providing preliminary estimates.
Budget revenue stood at 1.841 trillion rubles, or 13.4% of the amount envisaged by the budget for 2016, and spending amounted to 1.953 trillion rubles, or 12.1% of the planned amount for the year.
The Federal Tax Service contributed 978.545 billion rubles to the federal budget in the period, while the Federal Customs Service collected 617.631 billion rubles for the budget. Other federal agencies and authorities contributed 244.481 billion rubles.
In February, Russia’s federal budget deficit amounted to 513.1 billion rubles, or 8.1% of GDP, after the January surplus of 400.4 billion rubles, or 6.9% of GDP.
